International Contemporary Furniture Fair
New York City, New York
Spring 2018
ICFF is the most prestigious furniture show in North America. The show continues to attract designers, retailers, leading brands, and press from around the world. The UI 3D Design Program was selected for the 2015 Editors’ Award for Best Design School over other prestigious design schools such as Rhode Island School of Design and Virginia Tech, School of Architecture. With over 800 exhibitors and more than 36,000 industry peers, this remarkable blend of international companies creates an unparalleled opportunity to view a broad, yet highly focused selection of the world’s finest, most innovative, and original avant-garde home and contract products side-by-side, under one roof. The 3D Design program was represented by three undergraduate and four graduate students. Each student presented original designs consisting of furniture and small objects. ICFF allowed us to work as a group to create a cohesive design space in which we presented our individual work. Our attendance  highlighted the importance of the 3D Design BFA program at the University of Iowa.

The University of Iowa Booth
at the Iowa State Fair
Des Moines, Iowa
2015-current display

THe 3D Design program was commissioned under the direction of Chuck Romans and Monica Correia to design and fabricate a booth for the University of Iowa at the Iowa State Fair to be displayed in the Varied Industries building for years to come. The 3D Design program was represented by five undergraduate and two graduate students. We were inspired to create something that represents what the University of Iowa does best. Fairgoers can notice a nod to both sports and medicine in some creative, abstract, and interactive ways.
